Barcelona Political Street Art. Exhibition From September 15th to October 1st, 2017, in Barcelona streets. EXTENDED.

The Star Wars reminiscent art refers to the fact that for catalans Spain is the rest of the Castilla Empire. This empire has been loosing its military conquered territories, such as Peru, Cuba, Philippines, etc. And now it is the turn for Catalonia, conquered by Felipe V army in 1714. And the Empire counterattacks, the Dark Side conterattacks. But nothing can stop the desire of freedom of a country.

the exhibition has been extended due to the extreme clumsiness of the spanish government, that has decided to jail two catalan leaders of cultural associations, that have not committed any crime. The not independent spanish court just invented the crimes. So new posters have appeared on the walls. Here you hace some samples:

The reasons for jailing those two innocent persons is in contradiction with a sentence of spanish Tribunal Constitucional that recognises that people have the right to fight for the independence of Catalonia. This is just absurd and against fundamental human rights. Those two persons are in prison without a reason.

The web of ANC (Assemblea Nacional Catalana) is currently unavailable because is under cyber attack.

UPDATE: third example of “quotes posters”. This is the poster:

On Water (Auf dem Wasser), Ayşe Erkmen’s (Istanbul) artwork for Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017

Following with the recent impressions in Münster, this is one of the interesting works to see and to experiment. Besides the official descriptions, this is a work that generates a variety of suggestions. Depending on the point of view you see people walking on water. Or you may recall the refugees phenomenon, that have to go through water to go from one place to another. Anyway it is a remarkable piece of art that requires that you put your feet into water to fully appreciate it.

On Water (Auf dem Wasser) is the title of Ayşe Erkmen’s artwork for Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017. For Skulptur Projekte 2017, Erkmen selected Münster’s inland harbour as her location. Just below the surface of the water between the bustling Nordkai (northern pier) and the industrialized Südkai (southern pier) she installed a jetty that links the two riverbanks. It creates the impression that visitors are walking on water. In that sense, they become visible actors on Erkmen’s stage. In addition, the artist points out problems of a sociological and city-planning nature: How are borders drawn on maps, and how is sociocultural access achieved on the drawing board? How can existing hurdles be overcome, both physically and metaphorically?

Pierre Huyghe’s After ALife Ahead (2017) at Skulptur Projekte Münster: augmented reality

This is for shure the most impressive work of Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017, and the most expensive one, and it’ll be destroyed after Octobert the 1st.

A work including cancer cells, snails, algae, concrete, bees, mud, software and many other elements.

While touring possible locations for his contribution to the 2017 Skuptur Projekte in Münster, Germany, late last year, the 54-year-old French artist found one such site, a sprawling, old ice-skating rink, no longer in use, tucked behind a Burger King on the edge of town. “This place will be destroyed, so I could actually act on it as I wanted,” he said, recalling what attracted him to the space in a Skype call from Brooklyn last week.

Huyghe has transformed that abandoned rink into one of the most formidable and mysterious artworks that I have ever seen, an alien environment that seems secretly to teem with life and that operates according to its own furtive schedule.

You can have a coffee here before or after the visit.

Long waiting time, because the artist wants a limited number of visitors at a time.

The sea snail movements and the pattern of his shell control the opening and closing of the ceiling and the sound of the installation. Some cancer cells growing in an adequate place control the virtual movements of the black shapes located under the roof.

Downloading an app you can see those black structures moving on your head through your phone.

This is a bees nest, as part of the work. It contains real alive bees.

No us perdeu la exposició. IMPRESSIONANT.

RAMON ROGENT exhibition

Until December the 18th you can enjoy this exhibition of one among the real great one painters. At Fundació Vila Casas, Barcelona.

Ramón Rogent was born in 1920 and unfortunately died when 38 years old in a car crash, in 1958. His early death interrupted a great career, and put undeserved limitations to his fame. Please follow my advice, and visit this exhibition. I had never seen so many Rogent’s paintings before. Highly recommended.
